Fit To Work – What is it?

A Government funded Fit for Work advice line was launched on the 15th December 2014.

The service offers advice on returning to work issues and is delivered by Health Management Ltd.

The aim of the advice line is to reduce sickness absence and has a two pronged approach.

The first part is a free expert advice line available online or by phone.

The second part of the scheme is the occupational health assessment where employees can be referred to their GP for an assessment with an occupational Health professional. The professional will identify obstacles preventing them from returning to work and produce a return to work plan tailored to the employee’s needs.
