Which NEBOSH course is best to study?
A great option for those new to the industry are NEBOSH Awards as they are designed for those who wish to introduce themselves to health and safety.
NEBOSH Certificate courses are designed for those with limited or no experience in health and safety.
NEBOSH Diploma courses are designed for those that ideally, already have previous knowledge or experience with health and safety management.
Ultimately, NEBOSH Diplomas are a higher level and a lot more work is involved when undertaking course studies. Examinations / assessment is considerably more challenging as NEBOSH Diplomas are equivalent to University Degree level qualifications.
NEBOSH Training is either generalised to cover a wide scope such as the General Certificates / Diploma or specifically focused on particular areas of health and safety management, such as construction, fire, environmental safety and risk management.

How Difficult are NEBOSH Courses?
There are three primary levels of NEBOSH courses, which are Award, Certificate and Diploma levels.
Awards are a similar level to High School Diplomas (GCSE’s in the UK) – Equivalent to Level 2 on the NQF.
Certificates are comparable to a Certificate of Higher Education (A-levels in the UK) – Equivalent to Level 3 on the NQF.
Diplomas are akin to a Bachelors Degree – Equivalent to Level 6 on the NQF.
How are NEBOSH courses assessed?
NEBOSH courses are assessed by taking online or in-person examinations and / or assessments, which are set by NEBOSH’s own professionally qualified staff. External examiners also assist with assessment; most of whom are Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners (CMIOSH) operating within an industry, the public sector or in enforcement.
All NEBOSH courses are assessed by some form of examination and / or practical assessment. Recently NEBOSH have updated assessment criteria on a number of their qualifications.
