The Benefits of training, standing out and rising above
“If one does not move forward, one is not merely standing still, one is moving backward, eventually to be left behind.” – Unknown
In a society where all knowledge is accessible by the click of a finger or a push of a button, training not only stands out but is accredited more than ever before. The benefits of training are endless. Some of the main benefits of training are competitive workplace advantages, higher average wages for those who are trained and increasing levels of job security within their given organisations.
Now with the ever-expanding online presence of education and immediate access to any information people need, it is now clear the difference of what was and what has now become. Training used to only be accessible to those who could read, write, and perform, in contrast to the provisions in place in our modern day, such as more accessible education worldwide and measures in place so that training isn’t just available exclusively for the physically abled.
E-learning is fast becoming a central component of workplace learning in many companies with the vision and imagination to make the best use of it.
What is training?
Training normally falls into three categories
- Helping people to learn how to do something and do it right
- Informing people of what they should or should not do
- Information given to people to improve their understanding of a subject
The Benefits of training
The benefits of training and increasing personal knowledge can be seen on many levels, such as income, and positioning within your given organisation. It is now easier than ever to start out from simple beginnings and apply yourself to become trained and qualified for any given position.
Key reasons for implementing e-learning to your routines are to increase knowledge faster, the ability to access quality training materials globally, reduce training costs, both in time and money, and to ensure quality of training.
What types of training are available?
An NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) is a qualification that recognises someone’s competence in the workplace (the skills, knowledge and understanding they have in a work situation.) NVQ’s are based on national occupational standards for their given occupational area.
NVQ’s cover a wide range of subjects for almost every occupational area in every business sector. They are also a progression qualification meaning there are higher forms of the qualification available after the previous is completed. This allows the qualification to follow you through your career path, hand in hand. NVQ’s are also easier to follow as no examinations are involved! With flexible online learning available to suit your needs in your own time.
A range of NVQ’s we offer are as followed:
- NVQ level 7 in Health and safety
- NVQ level 6 in Health and Safety
- NVQ level 3 in Health and Safety
NEBOSH – (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health) professional qualifications in health, safety, and environmental management.
NEBOSH courses offer globally recognised qualifications such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, both are excellent first steps towards becoming a fully qualified health and safety professional in any given industry.
NEBOSH qualifications are also available for:
- Construction Safety
- Fire Safety
- Risk Management
IOSH – (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health). IOSH is the chartered body for health and safety professionals in the UK that offers professional qualifications to raise standards of health and safety in the workplace.
IOSH training courses help people in all sectors stay healthy and safe at work.
Two IOSH training courses are available:
- The Working Safely Course is aimed at all employees and covers the essentials of health and safety in the workplace.
- The Managing Safely Course is aimed at managers, team leaders and supervisors, and gives them the knowledge and skills to manage health and safety within their teams.
This is why we at SHEilds believe you should train and gather skills as we thoroughly believe in standing out and rising above.
